Match Report Re : Stafford Fathoms v Shrewsbury Fathoms

After last week’s Fathom practice game, due to Ludlow Fathoms pulling out of the arranged game the nite before, it was therefore nice yesterday for the Fathom team to get their first competitive game of the season at home to Shrewsbury Fathoms, I know the final score was 4 nil to the visitors ( i.e. Shrewsbury Fathoms ), but the score in any game, in my books, is secondary to me, it is how we perform and conduct ourselves on and off the pitch and considering it was our first competitive game and most of us did not know one another or how each of us played as a team, we all performed well ( especially Nick Brooker in goals, who was nominated as man of the match ) and we all gave a good account of ourselves on and off the pitch and we just need to remember that at half time during this game, we were drawing 0-0 with our visting opponents ( who will probably be one of the strongest fathom sides we will encounter this season ). I am sure as the weeks progress, if we all stick together, we will all get to know one another whole lot more and I am sure that will reflect / convert itself onto the pitch, as I am sure we will start to bond and gel and go from strengthen to strengthen as a team on the pitch, as well as off. The players who played for Stafford Fathoms yesterday against Shrewsbury Fathoms were : Nick Brooker ( GK ), Christopher Pendleton, Ashley Dunne, Jack Ball, Isha Newman, Jo Lovatt, Peter Powers, Rav Singh, Sam Gibson, Nathan Sillitto, Matthew Till, Jack Fudger & John Sinclair ( Capt ).
