We have been invited to put a team into this tournament. Please keep the date in your dairy and let Jamie F know if you can play. Further details available from Neil J.
I have been asked to post a request for helpers to aid Rob Peatfield in setting up the new Goals at Beaconside, those of you at training would appreciate the current ones are not up to scratch and the only way we’ll have the new goals in place for Saturday is if we put them together ourselves.
Rob will be at Beaconside with all the tools required from 3pm Tomorrow (Friday) As many helpers as possible would be great.

Men’s Masters Over 60s Cup & Trophy
Format: Each competition is played on a straight knockout basis. Teams who enter the Cup and lose in their first match will be entered into the Trophy, guaranteeing two matches.
Cup Entry Criteria: Very few clubs can field a team of players over 60. Entry is based on “County” teams. Eligibility to play for a team is based on playing for a club in that county or living in the county. More than one team may enter from a county, or two or more counties may merge to form one team. All players must have attained the age of 60 years in 2014. The competition commences on 24th November and the finals are on 3rd/4th May.
Staffordshire have entered a team in this new competition and would like to know if anyone from Stafford HC would like to be considered for the team.
If you meet the criteria and are willing and available please let me know and I will pass on your details.
Stafford 0 – 9 Barford Tigers
As expected it was a tough opening game for the Stafford Vets team against an outstanding Barford Tigers team which included many players who have played at the very top level.
The Tigers fluent pass and move game plan paid dividends putting Stafford under pressure from the off.
The Stafford defence did a very credible job keeping the score reasonably respectable with the midfield and attack providing limited respite despite winning a few short corners.
Thanks goes out to the club members who turned out to provide a rousing support throughout.
Stafford Vets now play in the Men’s Masters Plate with the next game not until the 3rd February 2013 as yet again we gained a bye for the first round. Full details here
